The group X:IN (ģģ ) debuted on April 11, 2023 with the single "Keeping The Fire" with Escrow Entertainment.
On August 30, 2023 they released their first mini-album "SYNCHRONICITY" and on February 25, 2024 the second one, "THE REAL".
They are: Nizz (Vocalist), E.Sha (Vocalist and Dancer), Nova (Rapper and Dancer), Hannah (Vocalist) and maknae Aria (Vocalist).
Let's know more about them.
1. KZ- Where does the name X:IN come from, how did you come up with it?
X:IN- Aria actually came up with the name. she came across the word Exin which means ‘furthermore’ in Latin and she thought it sounded cool and kind of fit well with us so she shared about it with the company and then we changed the spelling a bit and made a new meaning for it.
E.sha- I liked to dance since I was young, so I naturally learned to dance at school and academy. At that time, I watched Girls' Generation's debut performance and vaguely thought, 'Wow, I want to be that shining person' in my heart, and when it was time to seriously think about my career path, I became convinced that 'I will become an idol!'
Nizz- When I was in elementary school, I transferred to another area other than where I lived. At that time, my mother enrolled me in a K-pop dance class at the cultural center to help me adjust to school life. Since then, I have loved dancing so much, and as I grew older and became interested in singing, I dreamed of becoming an idol who can show dancing and singing skills on stage.
Nova- In my family everyone is related to music at some point, so I was definitely exposed to the music world since I was born. My parents always turned on classical music when I was a baby, and I loved dancing to it. SoI would definitely say my parents.
Hannah- I originally majored in dance and danced, and I got offers of casting from many places. But I kept turning them down, but it started with my parents' recommendation.
Aria- I’ve always loved and enjoyed music ever since i was very young and what actually got me into K-pop would be BTS ģ ė°°ė.
KZ- Qu'est-ce qui vous a fait entrer dans le monde de la musique ?
KZ- What are your talents besides singing and dancing, what are you good at?
E.sha- I'm very empathetic. I'm the most powerful F among the members. When someone cries in front of me, I cry along with them. Also, when someone talks about a hard time or worries, I get very immersed and empathize with them as if it were my job. That's how much I cry. LOL
Nizz- Counseling! I like listening to other people's stories, empathizing, and finding solutions, so I think I'm good at counseling.
Nova- I really enjoy drawing and I think I am pretty good at learning languages.
Hannah- Exercise! And I am good at finding tasty restaurants
Aria- I used to be a child actress and I’m still very interested in acting. I also draw and paint.
KZ- En dehors du chant et de la danse, quels sont vos talents ?
KZ- What would you say has changed from "KEEPING THE FIRE" to "THE REAL"? How would you define your musical style?
X:IN- "Keeping the fire" is our debut song, so we focused on impact. It's an addictive song that has an impact and can sing along to it. It's the first song that shows X:IN, so it's a song that shows our girl crush and powerful style. And I think it had that ambition that we would do music like this in the future. The next song, "synchronize," has a global vibe. Taking advantage of the fact that we are a multinational group with foreign members, it was created in a style that more global fans would like, rather than a Korean vibe, and we tried to incorporate X:IN's own splendor into it.The most recent song, "no doublet," is a song that has become more restrained and mature compared to the first two songs. It's been bright and openly powerful until now, but this song is sexy and powerful.
To define X:IN's music style, we want to say it's reverse Matryoshka doll. Unlike Matryoshka doll, which keeps coming out as you open it up, but gets smaller and smaller, I want to say that X:IN's music is shown by adding newness to the existing charm.
KZ- What is the most difficult part of a song (lyrics, music, choreography) and why?
X:IN- During ‘No doubt’ choreography the dance break has some difficult elements. We were very excited to perform this choreography, however the elements were hard to perform and our knees were all bruised at first. Later we understood that it was necessary to find the right balance for knees to not hurt, so we practiced very hard and hopefully, our fans enjoyed it!!
KZ- Let's talk about "THE REAL". What do you want to transmit with this mini-album?
X:IN- As it is an album that contains our autobiographical stories, we hope that our music will give READYs confidence, sometimes comfortness and the strength to overcome any situation.
KZ- Parlons de "THE REAL". Que voulez-vous transmettre avec ce mini-album ?
KZ- The songs "NO DOUBT" and "NEVER SORRY" talk about not giving up. What are you most proud of in your career?
X:IN- Thankfully, we had more opportunities to go to overseas concerts. We finished our fan meeting well. I think the most memorable thing is the Rookie Award we received last year. It's an award that we only receive when we were rookies. We only dreamed about it. We were so happy and proud to receive it.
KZ- Les chansons "NO DOUBT" et "NEVER SORRY" parlent de ne pas abandonner. De quoi ĆŖtes-vous le plus fier dans votre carriĆØre ?
KZ- Who is your idol, to whom is "MY IDOL" dedicated? Who influenced you?
E.sha- As mentioned earlier, my idol is Girls' Generation who made me dream of becoming a singer for the first time. It was so cool at the time, but they've been continuously promoting until now not only as a team but also as an individual, and I hope we can be able to be like that someday.
Nizz- Since I was a trainee, I listened to 2EN1's songs a lot and was inspired by their performance. I wanted to be an artist who can enjoy the performance with the public on stage like them.
Nova- The first K-pop music video (after ‘Gangnam Style’) that I saw was ‘Whistle’ by Blackpink seniors. I was mesmerized by the charisma, visuals, voices and dancing in this music video, so this is how I got into K-pop.
Hannah- All the seniors in My Idol are my idols. They all influenced me a lot, so it's probably all of them.
Aria- Honestly every artist mentioned in the song has influenced all 5 of us in some way or the other. But if I had to pick only one, Iwould say BTS ģ ė°°ė as Iam doing K-pop right now because of them.
KZ- What are your plans for 2024 (more music, tours)?
X:IN- We just finished promoting "no doubt". We want to work hard to prepare and come back soon. I think we'll be able to meet more international fans this year, and we'll have more chances to meet READYs in person in Korea. Let's meet soon!
KZ- A little advice for someone who wants to enter the music world.
E.sha- I want to tell you to try it first. If you try it, it might be very different from what you think. But if you are sure that you really want to try it, don't think about anything else and keep trying. The most important thing is to like music. If you are confident that you will put music first, don't give up and work hard! Oh, and healthy mental care is also a must!
Nizz- Having experienced it, I think it is a job that requires more effort and patience than I thought. You should have the strength to keep trying again without fear of failure. You should practice hard so that you don't become complacent and continue to improve! And most importantly, you love and care for yourself. If you practice hard and challenge yourself, you will achieve your dream. I Cheer for you.
Nova- Always work hard and believe in yourself even if looks like your dream is unapproachable!
Hannah- I think the most important thing is talent, effort, and consistency. Trusting in yourself is the most important thing and keep going. I'm rooting for you!
Aria- It isn’t an easy industry in every way but if you are passionate enough and believe that you can push through it all.
