2nd Interview with/avec BALLISTIK BOYZ

We had the pleasure to interview BALLISTIK BOYZ after the release of "SUM BABY" on August 4, 2021.
On November 1, 2022, their official fan club was launched.
On August 29, 2023 the group releases the track "All I Ever Wanted".
Ryuta Hidaka, Yoshiyuki Kano, Ryusei Kainuma, Miku Fukahori, Rikiya Okuda, Riki Matsui and Masahiro Sunada will talk about "Back & Forth", the album that was released on February 21, 2024.

Nous avons eu le plaisir d'interviewer BALLISTIK BOYZ après la sortie de "SUM BABY" le 4 août 2021.
Le 1er novembre 2022, leur fan club officiel est lancé.
Le 29 août 2023, le groupe sort le titre "All I Ever Wanted".
Ryuta Hidaka, Yoshiyuki Kano, Ryusei Kainuma, Miku Fukahori, Rikiya Okuda, Riki Matsui et Masahiro Sunada parleront de l'album "Back & Forth", sorti le 21 février 2024.

KZ- How was the collaboration with the Thai band TRINITY for the song "Drop Dead"?

Miku Fukahori: We hit it off because we’re of the same generation and pursuing the same dream. I feel like we gained new family members!

Rikiya Okuda: At first, I had no idea what kind of relationship this would be, but the more frequently we met for rehearsals and events, the more chances we had to chat. We’re now in regular contact and go out for dinner when we see each other. I feel we’re really like a family!

KZ- Comment s'est passée la collaboration avec le groupe thaïlandais TRINITY pour la chanson "Drop Dead" ?

Miku Fukahori : Nous nous sommes bien entendus parce que nous sommes de la même génération et que nous poursuivons le même rêve. J'ai l'impression que nous avons gagné de nouveaux membres de la famille

Rikiya Okuda : Au début, je n'avais aucune idée du type de relation que nous aurions, mais plus nous nous rencontrions pour les répétitions et les événements, plus nous avions l'occasion de discuter. Aujourd'hui, nous sommes en contact régulier et nous allons dîner ensemble lorsque nous nous voyons. J'ai l'impression que nous formons une véritable famille !

KZ- Let's talk about "Back & Forth,", how did the album come about, what do you want to transmit?

Yoshiyuki Kano: This is our first album in about two years. During those years we lived in Thailand for six months to pursue a variety of projects, and we also toured around Japan. Two of the songs were produced in Thailand in collaboration with Thai artists. We actually sing them in English too!
Some of the other songs were composed and written by us. I believe our efforts toward our dreams have taken shape in these tracks. I’d be happy if you could feel our determination and belief in our dreams!

KZ- Parlons de "Back & Forth", comment est né l'album, que voulez-vous transmettre ?

Yoshiyuki Kano : C'est notre premier album depuis environ deux ans. Pendant ces années, nous avons vécu en Thaïlande pendant six mois pour poursuivre divers projets, et nous avons également fait une tournée au Japon. Deux des chansons ont été produites en Thaïlande en collaboration avec des artistes thaïlandais. Nous les chantons également en anglais !
Certaines des autres chansons ont été composées et écrites par nous-mêmes. Je crois que nos efforts pour réaliser nos rêves ont pris forme dans ces chansons. Je serais heureux que vous puissiez ressentir notre détermination et notre foi en nos rêves !

KZ- If you had to choose the song that best represents you from the album, which one would it be and why?

Masahiro Sunada: "ラストダンスにBYEBYE"
It was a very difficult question, but I think this song is perfect for us because it’s a mix of current foreign sounds and J-POP.

Riki Matsui: "Drop Deadfeat. TRINITY"
This is a strong song, saying with full of confidence that we’ll be leading the music scene in the coming era. I think it represents us well.

KZ- Si vous deviez choisir la chanson qui vous représente le mieux dans l'album, quelle serait-elle et pourquoi ?

Masahiro Sunada : "ラストダンスにBYEBYE"
C'était une question très difficile, mais je pense que cette chanson est parfaite pour nous parce qu'elle est un mélange de sons étrangers actuels et de J-POP.

Riki Matsui : "Drop Deadfeat. TRINITY"
C'est une chanson forte, qui dit avec beaucoup d'assurance que nous serons à la tête de la scène musicale dans les années à venir. Je pense qu'elle nous représente bien.

KZ- What has been the most difficult part of this album?

Ryuta Hidaka: It took us a long time to decide on the title. What do we want to convey through this album? What do we want to evoke in the audience? We put a lot of thought into these questions and eventually chose "Back & Forth." Many of the songs reflect how our journey has been going, and we couldn’t express it through these tracks if we hadn’t had the experiences we’ve gone through so far. We hope listeners can feel it through this album.

Ryusei Kainuma: Since many of the songs were recorded over the past two years, the most difficult part wasn’t recording but deciding on the title, seeing this album as the culmination of the past two years. Whatshould it be named? Should we imagine ourselves a few years from now and think about the title with that in mind? We pondered over these questions and finally decided on "Back & Forth."

KZ- Quelle a été la partie la plus difficile de cet album ?

Ryuta Hidaka : Il nous a fallu beaucoup de temps pour choisir le titre. Qu'est-ce que nous voulons transmettre à travers cet album ? Que voulons-nous évoquer chez le public ? Nous avons beaucoup réfléchi à ces questions et avons finalement choisi "Back & Forth". Beaucoup de chansons reflètent notre parcours, et nous ne pourrions pas l'exprimer à travers ces titres si nous n'avions pas vécu les expériences que nous avons traversées jusqu'à présent. Nous espérons que les auditeurs pourront le ressentir à travers cet album.

Ryusei Kainuma : Comme beaucoup de chansons ont été enregistrées au cours des deux dernières années, le plus difficile n'a pas été d'enregistrer mais de décider du titre, car cet album est le point culminant de ces deux dernières années. Comment devrait-il s'appeler ? Devrions-nous nous imaginer dans quelques années et réfléchir au titre dans cette optique ? Nous avons réfléchi à ces questions et avons finalement opté pour "Back & Forth".

KZ- "All I Ever Wanted" features a collaboration with GULF KANAWUT. How did this collaboration come about?

Miku Fukahori: I‘m happy to have been able to collaborate with handsome superstar Gulf and create a new song.

KZ- "All I Ever Wanted" est le fruit d'une collaboration avec GULF KANAWUT. Comment cette collaboration a-t-elle vu le jour ?

Miku Fukahori : Je suis heureus d'avoir pu collaborer avec la superstar Gulf et de créer une nouvelle chanson.

KZ- "GOD MODE" is a song with different types of music and a powerful rap. What was your inspiration?

Masahiro Sunada: "GOD MODE" is a tie-in song for the anime "BUCCHIGIRI?!" so it was inspired by the worldview of the animation and its characters' personalities.

KZ- "GOD MODE" est une chanson avec différents types de musique et un rap puissant. Quelle a été votre inspiration ?

Masahiro Sunada : "GOD MODE" est une chanson liée à l'anime "BUCCHIGIRI !?", elle a donc été inspirée par la vision du monde de l'animation et les personnalités de ses personnages.

KZ- How did "GOD MODE" become part of the soundtrack of the anime "BUCCHIGIRI?!"?

Yoshiyuki Kano: The collaboration project with "BUCCHIGIRI!?"was first secured, and then we worked on music production including choosing the tune and lyrics to adapt to the story.Of course it’s our song, but we had the atmosphere and momentum of the anime in mind thorough the creative process!

KZ- Comment "GOD MODE" a-t-il été intégré à la bande originale de l'anime "BUCCHIGIRI?!" ?

Yoshiyuki Kano : Le projet de collaboration avec "BUCCHIGIRI !?" a d'abord été assuré, puis nous avons travaillé sur la production musicale, y compris le choix de la mélodie et des paroles à adapter à l'histoire. Bien sûr, c'est notre chanson, mais nous avions l'atmosphère et l'élan de l'anime à l'esprit tout au long du processus de création !

KZ- "N.E.X.T" is a beautiful ballad where you change register. What does this song evoke in you?

Miku Fukahori: We created this song from scratch, and it’s filled with our gratitude to our fans who always support us.

Rikiya Okuda: We put an emphasis on not only the melody and lyrics but also a kind of catchiness, despite it being a ballad. I believe you’ll never get tired of listening to it!

KZ- "N.E.X.T" est une belle ballade où l'on change de registre. Qu'est-ce que cette chanson évoque pour vous ?

Miku Fukahori : Nous avons créé cette chanson à partir de rien, et elle est remplie de notre gratitude envers nos fans qui nous soutiennent toujours.

Rikiya Okuda : Nous avons mis l'accent non seulement sur la mélodie et les paroles, mais aussi sur l'accroche, bien qu'il s'agisse d'une ballade. Je pense que vous ne vous lasserez jamais de l'écouter !

KZ- You wrote the song "In My Head", what was in your head to write it?

Miku: Fukahori: We purposely wrote the lyrics with very direct wording for the theme of a lost love that is hard to overcome, so that listeners can empathize with it easily.

Riki Matsui: It’s a story about a lost love, and I mainly focused on honest words and feelings toward the lost love without hiding anything.

KZ- Vous avez écrit la chanson "In My Head", qu'aviez-vous en tête pour l'écrire ?

Miku : Fukahori : Nous avons délibérément écrit des paroles très directes sur le thème d'un amour perdu difficile à surmonter, afin que les auditeurs puissent facilement s'identifier à ce thème.

Riki Matsui : C'est l'histoire d'un amour perdu, et je me suis principalement concentré sur des mots et des sentiments honnêtes à l'égard de l'amour perdu, sans rien cacher.

KZ- Tell us about "Ding Ding Dong" and why the title?

Ryusei Kainuma: This song implies choosing between conflicting desires, and the "Ding" sound represents the sound of the bell when making a decision.

KZ- Parlez-nous de "Ding Ding Dong" et pourquoi ce titre ?

Ryusei Kainuma : Cette chanson implique de choisir entre des désirs contradictoires, et le son "Ding" représente le son de la cloche lorsqu'on prend une décision.

KZ- Looking at the different musical registers, in which one do you feel more comfortable and why?

Masahiro Sunada: High notes with falsetto feel nice to sing.
I like the way it resonates in my head.

Riki Matsui: Lower notes are more comfortable to me. Among musical instruments, I like bass.

KZ- Si l'on considère les différents registres musicaux, dans lequel vous sentez-vous le plus à l'aise et pourquoi ?

Masahiro Sunada : Les notes aiguës et le falsetto sont agréables à chanter.
J'aime la façon dont elles résonnent dans ma tête.

Riki Matsui : Je me sens plus à l'aise dans les notes graves. Parmi les instruments de musique, j'aime la basse.

KZ- After this album, what are your plans for 2024 (more music, collaborations, tour)?

The BALLISTIK BOYZ LIVE TOUR 2024 "HIGHER EX" will be held starting in April 2024.

KZ- Après cet album, quels sont vos projets pour 2024 (plus de musique, de collaborations, de tournées) ?
