Interview with/avec BDC

BDC (비디씨) is a 3-member boy group under BRANDNEW MUSIC. BDC stands for ‘BOYS DA CAPO’ (보이스 다 카포) (from the beggining). They debuted on October 29th, 2019 with the single BOYS DA CAPO.
Their members are: Hong Seong Jun (Vocalist and Dancer), Kim Si Hun (Rapper, Vocalist and Dancer) and maknae Yun Jung Hwan (Vocalist and Dancer).
On June 30, 2021 they presented their third mini-album THE INTERSECTION: CONTACT..

BDC (비디씨) est un boys group de 3 membres de BRANDNEW MUSIC. BDC signifie 'BOYS DA CAPO' (보이스 다 카포) (depuis le début). Ils ont fait leurs débuts le 29 octobre 2019 avec le single BOYS DA CAPO.
Leurs membres sont : Hong Seong Jun (vocaliste et danseur), Kim Si Hun (rappeur, vocaliste et danseur) et le maknae Yun Jung Hwan (vocaliste et danseur).

KZ- How did you decide to enter the musical world?

Sihun- At first, I wanted to become a dancer but after auditioning 1~2 times, I had sort feeling that I don’t want to lose to others, I started dreaming to become an idol.
Seongjun- A friend asked me to go to a practical music academy (private institution) together, so we started going to the academy and there, the head of academy recommended this, and this is how I entered.
Junghwan- I started musicals at the age of 14 thanks to the recommendation of my mom. At that time, I got a lot of casting calls from various companies, and I decided from then to start my path in this idol direction.

KZ- Comment avez-vous décidé d'entrer dans le monde de la musique ?

Sihun- Au début, je voulais devenir danseuse, mais après avoir passé une ou deux auditions, j'ai eu le sentiment que je ne voulais pas perdre face aux autres, j'ai commencé à rêver de devenir une idole.
Seongjun- Un ami m'a demandé d'aller ensemble dans une académie de musique pratique (institution privée), alors nous avons commencé à aller à l'académie et là, le directeur de l'académie m'a recommandé, et c'est comme ça que je suis entré.
Junghwan- J'ai commencé les comédies musicales à l'âge de 14 ans grâce à la recommandation de ma mère. À cette époque, j'ai reçu beaucoup d'appels de casting de diverses compagnies, et j'ai décidé à partir de ce moment-là de commencer mon chemin dans cette direction, le chemin dans la direction des idoles.

KZ- What are your talents beyond singing and dancing?

Sihun- I’ve never experienced anything other than singing and dancing, so I’m not sure but I want to be an allrounder.
Seongjun- I’d like to have one other than singing and dancing. If I have to choose one, I’ll go with singing.
Junghwan- I guess… athletic ability?? I’ve donesports for a quite long time.

KZ- Quels sont votres talents en dehors du chant et de la danse ?

Sihun- Je n'ai jamais connu autre chose que le chant et la danse, donc je ne suis pas sûre mais je veux être polyvalente.
Seongjun- J'aimerais en avoir un autre que le chant et la danse. Si je dois en choisir une, je choisirai le chant.
Junghwan- Je suppose... des capacités athlétiques ? ?? J'ai fait du sport pendant un certain temps.

KZ- What are your musical influences and how would you define your style?

Sihun- I think I have an influence to heal and ease a lot of people’s ear.
Seongjun- We all love music, so we get influenced in everywhere. I don’t want to set specific concept, but rather want to carry any concept outperfectly.
Junghwan- It seems like we are a group that can try different directions by following the trend.

KZ- Quelles sont votres influences musicales et comment définirais-vous votre style ?

Sihun- Je pense que j'ai une influence pour guérir et soulager l'oreille de beaucoup de gens.
Seongjun- Nous aimons tous la musique, donc nous sommes influencés de partout. Je ne veux pas définir un concept spécifique, mais plutôt porter n'importe quel concept à la perfection.
Junghwan- Il semble que nous soyons un groupe qui peut essayer différentes directions en suivant la tendance.

KZ- What memory comes to your mind with the song REMEMBER ME?

Sihun- It reminds me of the first time I met the fans at the first fanmeeting.
Seongjun- Happy memories. It’s my personal favourite track among all tracks.
Junghwan- We had prepared for almost 3 months, just to prepare the song. We kept re-recording along with the practicing its choreography and it reminds me of those time.

KZ- Quel souvenir vous vient à l'esprit avec la chanson REMEMBER ME ?

Sihun- Elle me rappelle la première fois que j'ai rencontré les fans lors du premier fanmeeting.
Seongjun- Des souvenirs heureux. C'est ma chanson préférée parmi toutes les chansons.
Junghwan- Nous nous sommes préparés pendant presque 3 mois, juste pour préparer la chanson. Nous avons continué à réenregistrer tout en pratiquant la chorégraphie et cela me rappelle cette époque.

KZ- In the three mini-albums, Belief, Discovery and Contact, the moon is very present, why does it inspire you so much?

Sihun- Looking at the moon at night makes me feel more happy and friendly and reminds me of people around me.
Seongjun- Although the shape of moon changes little by little, it eventually comes back in a regular basis and by watching it, it reminds me of ‘Don’t forget where we started’, ‘Let’s get back’, which is the meaning of BDC.
Junghwan- I’m getting mystical and dreamy inspiration. I’m trying to show the inspiration I get through the performance.

KZ- Dans les trois mini-albums, Belief, Discovery et Contact, la lune est très présente, pourquoi vous inspire-t-elle autant ?
Sihun- Regarder la lune la nuit me fait me sentir plus heureux et amical et me rappelle les gens qui m'entourent.
Seongjun : Bien que la forme de la lune change peu à peu, elle finit par revenir régulièrement et en la regardant, elle me rappelle 'Don’t forget where we started’, ‘Let’s get back’, ce qui est la signification de BDC.
Junghwan- J'ai une inspiration mystique et rêveuse. J'essaie de montrer l'inspiration que je reçois à travers la performance.

KZ- Let's talk about Intersection: Contact. What was the most difficult song and which one was your favorite?

Sihun- The hardest song was “LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY” which was hard to record because it was a really high-toned track, and I like the MIRAGE the most!
Seongjun- This album’s songs were all pretty high toned and also very emotional so both aspects made it hard overall. I personally like “LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY” the best.
Junghwan- Since every track was high toned and new challenge for us, everything was really hard. My favourite is “LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY”.

KZ- Parlons de Intersection : Contact. Quelle a été la chanson la plus difficile et laquelle a été votre préférée ?

Sihun- La chanson la plus difficile a été "LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY" qui a été difficile à enregistrer parce que c'était un morceau vraiment très aigu, et j'aime le MIRAGE le plus !
Seongjun- Les chansons de cet album étaient toutes assez aigües et aussi très émotionnelles, donc ces deux aspects ont rendu l'album difficile dans l'ensemble. Personnellement, c'est "LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY" que je préfère.
Junghwan- Comme chaque morceau était très fort et que c'était un nouveau défi pour nous, tout était vraiment difficile. Mon préféré est "LOVE, TRUST & DESTINY".

KZ- Let's talk about the title track MOONLIGHT, what did you want to convey with the song?

Sihun- I wanted to convey that ‘We are desperate’.
Seongjun- I wanted to let people know that this is a new beginning and make them curious about our next move.
Junghwan- I wanted to show that BDC is able to decorate a stage with this color as well.

KZ- Parlons du titre MOONLIGHT, que vouliez-vous transmettre avec cette chanson ?

Sihun- Je voulais faire comprendre que 'Nous sommes désespérés'.
Seongjun- Je voulais faire savoir aux gens que c'est un nouveau départ et les rendre curieux de notre prochain mouvement.
Junghwan- Je voulais montrer que BDC est capable de décorer une scène avec cette couleur aussi.

KZ- Is the INTERSECTION series closed and do you have any new plans that you can tell us about?

Sihun- I assume INTERSECTION series will be finished with this. But I guess there’d be other stories to come?
Seongjun- It’s secret. In fact, I don’t know…I know a bit..But I don’t know..
Junghwan- Since it has ended with ‘CONTACT’, I assume there’d be a story moving forward to a new world.

KZ- La série INTERSECTION est-elle terminée et avez-vous de nouveaux projets dont vous pouvez nous parler ?

Sihun- Je suppose que la série INTERSECTION sera terminée avec ça. Mais je suppose qu'il y aura d'autres histoires à venir ?
Seongjun- C'est secret. En fait, je ne sais pas... Je sais un peu... Mais je ne sais pas...
Junghwan- Puisque ça s'est terminé par 'CONTACT', je suppose qu'il y aura une histoire qui se poursuivra dans un nouveau monde.

KZ- If you could collaborate with another artist, who would you like it to be?

Sihun- I’d like to do it with Lauv.
Seongjun- I’d like to do it with BTOB.
Junghwan- I’d like to do it with Hui from Pentagon.

KZ- Si tu pouvais collaborer avec un autre artiste, qui aimerais-tu que ce soit ?

Sihun- J'aimerais le faire avec Lauv.
Seongjun- J'aimerais le faire avec BTOB.
Junghwan- J'aimerais le faire avec Hui de Pentagon.

KZ- Tell us about your hopes and dreams.

Sihun- I want to become a group that the public listens to our song with a trust that our songs are great.
Seongjun- I’d like to be recognized as a singer and I want our songs to be remembered evenafter time passes.
Junghwan- I havent set any specific hope or dream. I’ll always go for the best.

KZ- Parlez-nous de vos espoirs et de vos rêves.

Sihun- Je veux devenir un groupe que le public écoute avec la conviction que nos chansons sont géniales.
Seongjun- J'aimerais être reconnu en tant que chanteur et je veux que l'on se souvienne de nos chansons même après le passage du temps.
Junghwan- Je n'ai pas d'espoir ou de rêve particulier. Je ferai toujours de mon mieux.

KZ- Say something to the international fans.

Sihun- I hope this covid situation settles down so I can meet our FINEs abroad. Let’s go through this hard time and make a step forward to the future together. Love you 💕
Seongjun- Everyone is going through a difficult time right now and I’m so sad that we cannot see each other even though I’m missing our fans so much. Love you❤
Junghwan- I’ll always show you a different side of me, so please look forward to it and stay tuned!!

KZ- Dites quelque chose aux fans internationaux.

Sihun- J'espère que cette situation de covidence va se régler pour que je puisse rencontrer nos FINEs à l'étranger. Traversons cette période difficile et faisons un pas en avant vers l'avenir ensemble. Je vous aime 💕
Seongjun- Tout le monde traverse une période difficile en ce moment et je suis si triste que nous ne puissions pas nous voir même si nos fans me manquent tellement. Je vous aime❤
Junghwan- Je vous montrerai toujours une autre facette de moi, alors attendez avec impatience et restez à l'écoute ! !!
