Its members are Hidaka Ryuta, Kano Yoshiyuki, Kainuma Ryusei, Fukahori Miku, Okuda Rikiya, Matsui Riki and Sunada Masahiro. The group is made up of seven extremely talented members who perform physically demanding acrobatic dance routines while singing into handheld mics.
On June 23, 2021, they released the album "BATTLE OF TOKYO TIME 4 Jr. EXILE" in which BALLISTIK BOYZ also participated, including VIVA LA REVOLUCION by BALLISTIK BOYZ.
On August 4, 2021 they are back with SUM BABY
Let's find out more about them:
KZ- When did you decide you wanted to dedicate yourselves to music?
Hidaka Ryuta: When I was 15 years old, in my first year of high school, I decided I wanted to be a singer and started singing.
Matsui Riki: When I was 17 years old. I decided that I wanted to work in the music industry to make a living.
Kainuma Ryusei: We danced, performed acrobatics and sang under the theme of "conducting various experiments in the lab", but it was really tough! (laughs) However, I think the characteristics of BALLISTIK BOYZ were clearly visible because of this songās music video, so now I'm glad I worked so hard.
Kano Yoshiyuki: This song took us all over Southeast Asia, so I think a lot of people have heard it!
KZ- Quels souvenirs vous rappellent les 44RAIDERS ?
KZ- What experiences did BATTLE OF TOKYO give you?
Sunada Masahiro: I was stoked by the possibility of bringing entertainment to the world beyond music!
Kainuma Ryusei: I've loved anime since I was a kid, and when I heard that the creator of one of my favorite works was cooperating with BATTLE OF TOKYO, I got even more excited! I'm personally looking forward to the future development of this huge project because it will expand the scope of entertainment and make it easier for Japanese culture to be transmitted to the world!
KZ- Let's talk about SUM BABY, how did the idea come up and what do you want to transmit?
Hidaka Ryuta: We went into the recording and music video shooting with the idea of surpassing SUMMER HYPE, which was released last year. The music video was filmed without much dancing, just us enjoying the summer in a simple way, which we think is what our fans would want to see, so I hope you enjoy it.
Okuda Rikiya: We discussed the idea with all the members little by little! We talked a lot about where to start shooting with the mobile camera!
KZ- The songs have more minutes of RAP and sound more powerful. Tell us about it.
Matsui Riki: I think that powerfulness is one of the major strengths of BALLISTIK BOYZ. I think it's even more interesting when the VOCAL team's unique and powerful voices and sweet voices are added to it, so we've been working on the RAP and sound with a particular awareness of giving the song momentum and strength.
Okuda Rikiya: Of course, chill and quiet songs will be important in the future, but I think more powerful songs are more important for us now.
KZ- Les chansons ont plus de minutes de RAP et sonnent plus puissantes. Parlez-nous de cela.
KZ- HANDS UP, SUM BABY, Blow Off Steam, Chasinā. Which one was the most difficult to compose and which one was your favorite?
Sunada Masahiro: SUM BABY was the hardest one for me! I had a little trouble differentiating the tone of my voice and singing style according to the story. My personal favorite is HANDS UP! Because the lyrics and melody pierce my heart straight away.
Kainuma Ryusei: To be honest, each song had its own difficulties, so it was difficult to choose one, but the song that I added the most to was "Blow Off Steam". I used auto-tune for this song, but I changed the way each part was sung, so it's one of the songs that I have a large repertoire of. For the rap part, I was careful about the pitch so that the auto-tune would sound the most beautiful, and for the gaya part, I sang it so that it would go too far than I expected.
KZ- Rikiya, you wrote the lyrics for Chasinā. What was more difficult, the lyrics or the choreography?
Okuda Rikiya: I guess the choreography was more difficult! The rapping was mostly about using the groove and skills I already had! The choreography was definitely more difficult!
Fukahori Miku: As a group, to do a world tour. As for me, I'd like to work as a producer or a designer.
Kano Yoshiyuki: I would like to become an artist who can be supported by many people in Japan and overseas so that we can get closer to our dream of a world stadium tour!
KZ- Et maintenant, parlez-nous de vos espoirs et de vos rĆŖves.
Hidaka Ryuta: We havenāt been able to go overseas due to the difficult situation since last year, but we still have the same dream of going global as we did when we first formed, so weāll definitely go overseas to meet people and entertain them. Iād be happy if you look forward to it. So please check out our new single "SUM BABY".
Sunada Masahiro: Weāll definitely go on a world tour in the near future to meet you, so please wait for us!
